Led Stanford to the 1983 NCAA team championship before turning pro that
summer.
Earned the 1983 ATP Newcomer of the Year award.
Surprised everyone by reaching the Round of 16 at the 1984 Wimbledon
Championships, extending Ivan Lendl to five sets.
Appeared in his first Masters doubles in 1987 (w/Pate).
Has ranked in the ATP top 50 in four of the last five years, reaching a
year-end best 17 in 1985.
Climbed to high as No. 11 on the ATP computer in 1985 and earned a
career-high $257,611.
Surpassed $1 million in career prize money by reaching the semifinals at
Los Angeles in September 1989.
