• As a player, Gabriel was the winner of seven ATP Challenger Tour titles as well as the ATP Tour event in Nice in 1992
• He reached a career-high ranking of World No. 36 in the ATP Rankings, and played Davis Cup for Argentina
• After several knee injuries, he was forced to retire in 1999
