Started playing tennis at age 3 because father and brothers were playing.
Father, Hirotsugu, and mother, Chizuru, are tennis coaches. Brothers are Keisuke, his coach, and Yusuke, who also plays tennis.
Favourite surface is hard, shot is forehand and tournament is Tokyo.
Idol growing up was Andy Murray. Also admires Nick Kyrgios and Kei Nishikori.
Hobbies include driving, sleeping and watching tennis.
If he wasn't a tennis player, he would go to college.
Trains in Ariake, Japan and San Remo, Italy.
Fitness trainer is Hamaura.

Made breakthrough in 2023 by cracking the Top 100 in July and reaching a career-high No. 88 on 21 August after SF at Stanford Challenger.
Qualified a personal-best 5 times into tour-level tournaments in 2023 and made Grand Slam debut at Australian Open, reaching 2R as a Q (d. Rinderknech, l. to Korda) and also advanced to 2R at Wimbledon as LL (d. Huesler in 5 sets, l. to Zverev in 4 sets). Attempted to qualify in 7 Grand Slam tournaments before 2023 Australian Open success.
Earned biggest career win over No. 12 Auger-Aliassime at 2023 Washington (l. to Humbert in 3R).
Qualified for 1st ATP Masters 1000 in Miami (d. Paire, l. to Tiafoe in 3 sets) and later in Madrid (d. Moutet, l. to Norrie).
Has a 95-64 career record on ATP Challenger Tour (87-52 on hard) and 3-3 in finals. Won titles on home soil at 2019 Kobe and back-to-back at 2022 Kobe and Yokkaichi.
Broke into Top 200 in November 2018 after advancing to 1st ATP Challenger Tour final in Kobe (d. Nishioka, l. to Ito).
Posted 1st ATP Tour win at 2018 Tokyo as Q (d. Haase). Made ATP Tour debut at 2018 Washington as Q and squandered 1 MP vs. Medvedev.
Peaked at No. 2 in junior rankings on 21 March 2016. Went 104-39 on ITF Junior Circuit, including wins over fellow #NextGenATP players Clarke, de Minaur, Kecmanovic, Kuhn, Popyrin, Ruud and Tsitsipas. Reached US Open boys' SFs in 2016 singles and 2015 doubles w/Harris. Ended junior career with title at 2016 Osaka Grade A.
