Began playing tennis aged four. His father, Peter, was a tennis coach.
Played football until the age of 14.
Was a ball kid in Perth for the likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and John Isner. Eventually became a hitting partner, trained with Isner.
Competed in all four majors as a junior, climbed as high as World No. 28.
Remained in school throughout the juniors.
Was a “massive fan” of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. “The way [Jo] could get the crowds going, he was so exciting to watch. I loved the way he'd keep coming forward, [hit] diving volleys or just do a bit more exciting stuff compared to some of the rest.”
Likes searching for the best coffee he can find and also enjoys turning on his Nintendo Switch and PlayStation.
Won first major main draw match at the 2024 US Open against Taro Daniel. Competed in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in 2025.

Earned 1st PIF ATP ranking point at age 18 in 2019, broke inside Top 200 in May 2024 after winning 1st Challenger title in Guangzhou and reached career-high No. 176 in July.
Made ATP Tour debut at 2021 Melbourne-1 as WC, then qualified for 2024 ‘s-Hertogenbosch and 2024 Winston-Salem.
Received WC to make Grand Slam main draw debut at 2024 US Open and is looking for first tour-level win vs. Daniel in 1R.
Owns 48-42 Challenger record (1-0 in finals), earning 1st final and title at 2024 Guangzhou and earned wins over former or future Top 100 players Cazaux, Cressy, Kudla, Mmoh, Vukic and Walton.
