    • Full name is Rafael Nadal Parera. Nickname is Rafa.
    • Began playing tennis at age 4 with his uncle and longtime coach Toni.
    • Swings left-handed but writes right-handed. Played with 2-handed forehand before his uncle Toni made him change at age 9.
    • Father, Sebastian Nadal, is a businessman. Among his businesses are the family-owned Sa Punta restaurant and the Vidres Mallorca glass-and-windows company.

    • Suffered left hip injury in 2R loss to McDonald at 2023 Australian Open and was sidelined rest of the season. He underwent arthroscopic left hip surgery in Barcelona on 2 June.
    • All-time record of 912conseuctive weeks in Top 10 Pepperstone ATP Rankings(since 25 April 2005) came to an end on20 March 2023.
