    • Mother, Roberta. Father, Christiano. Both played several sports as did Joao.
    • Attended alleditions of the Rio de Janeiro ATP Tour eventas a fan. Watching the professionals motivated him to focus on tennis and pursue the sport for his career.
    • Grew up 10 minutes away from the site of the Rio Open. Next to his home was the Rio de Janeiro Country Club, where his mother would take him to play on the clay courts.
    • WatchedNadal from front-row seats in Rio de Janeiro in 2014, when the Spaniard won the title. Took a photo with former World No. 21 Thomaz Bellucci.
    • In 2023 was invited to Nitto ATP Finals as a hittingpartner for the best players in the world. Practised with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner among others.
    • Has good relationship with Brazlian legend Gustavo Kuerten, first interacting with Kuertenat the Davis Cup in February 2024.

    • Fonseca reached the quarter-finals at the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro in 2024, recording his maiden tour-level win in the process.
    • Advanced to his second ATP Tour quarter-final in Bucharest in April 2024.
    • Clinched his maiden ATP Challenger Tour trophy in Lexington in August 2024.
    • Rose from outside Top 700 in January2024 toNo. 145 in the PIF ATP Rankings by December 2024.
    • Qualified for the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF.
    • Brazilian madeATP Tour debut at 2023 Rio de Janeiro as 16-year-old wild card.
    • Won 2023 US Open boys’ singles event to become World No. 1 in junior rankings after reaching the quarter-finals at Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon earlier in the season. Became 2023 ITF World Champion.
    • Advanced to 2022 Sao Leopoldo Challenger QF as 1,363rd-ranked WC, then achieved career-high No. 826 in January 2023.
    • Went 6-0 in singles to lead Brazil to its 1st Junior Davis Cup title in 2022.
