Began playing tennis at age 8 on hard courts.
Also swam and played football and basketball growing up. Now enjoys golf.

Finished 2022 at year-end high No. 58 after earning personal-best 19 wins and qualifying for 4 ATP Masters 1000 events.
Defeated countryman Alcaraz before falling to countryman Carreno Busta in 1st ATP Tour final at 2021 Marbella.
Earned 2 Top-10 wins over No. 3 Zverev at 2019 Marrakech 2R and No. 3 Ruud at 2022 Tokyo 1R.
Owns 132-69 Challenger record (9-7 in finals), including recent clay-court title at 2023 San Marino.
