Full name is Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune.
Father, Anders; mother, Aneke; sister, Alma.
Honoured by his fellow players as 2022 ATP Newcomer of the Year.
Born 6 days before fellow #NextGenATP star Carlos Alcaraz. "Hopefully it’s going to be like Roger and Rafa," Rune says of his rivalry with Alcaraz. "That’s what we’re seeking for -- to be the greatest players of all time and to be the greatest players we can be."
Began playing tennis at age 6 because his sister played.
Says that his first idol was Rafael Nadal, "but when he moved to No. 2 in the rankings, it has been [Roger] Federer ever since."
Favourite shot is forehand, tournament is Roland Garros and city on tour is Paris.
Enjoys playing on both clay and hard courts.
Served as a practise partner at 2019 Nitto ATP Finals, hitting with his idols Federer and Nadal.

Former World No. 1 junior broke into Top 100 in January 2022, Top 50 in May 2022 and Top 10 in November 2022, becoming highest-ranked Dane in PIF ATP Rankings history (since 1973), peaking at No. 4 in August 2023.
Captured 2022 ATP Masters 1000 Paris title at age 19 by becoming 1st player since start of ATP Tour in 1990 to earn 5 Top-10 wins at an event other than Nitto ATP Finals.
From 2022 Paris to 2023 Rome, compiled an 18-5 record in 6 ATP Masters 1000 events, also posting runner-up results in Monte Carlo (l. to Rublev) and Rome (l. to Medvedev).
Recorded 7-1 start to career vs. Top 5 opponents, going on a 7-match winning streak, then losing to No. 3 Medvedev at 2023 ATP Masters 1000 Rome final.
Ended 2022 season on 19-2 run (2-2 in finals) after going 1-6 from January-February and 0-7 from June-July.
Upset 2021 finalist Tsitsipas at 2022 Roland Garros to become 1st Danish man to reach QF in tournament history (since 1925) and to reach any Grand Slam QF in Open Era (since 1968).
