Career

Nickname is Fran.
Father, Alejandro, played professionally in 1980s; mother, Maria Luz; brother, Juan Manuel, also plays on ATP Tour; sister, Maria Constanza, won gold medal in field hockey with Team Argentina at 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Began playing tennis at age 5 with his parents, who run an academy in Buenos Aires.
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in management through online courses with the University of Palermo. Previously studied at University of Buenos Aires after playing college tennis in 2018 at University of South Carolina.
Favourite shot is forehand, surface is clay, tournament is Wimbledon and city on tour is Rome.
Idolised Roger Federer and countryman David Nalbandiangrowing up.
Also enjoys football. Favourite team isRiver Plate.
Lists his father as his hero and Batman as his favourite superhero.
Likeswatching Netflix. Favourite movie is Gladiator, TV show is Prison Break, actor is Matt Damon.
Dream job is singer and favourite musicians are Bad Bunny and Bob Marley. "I sing all the time," says Cerundolo. "In the shower, when I go to my room, that’s my passion. I don’t have a favourite karaoke song, but I like reggaeton a lot... Ilike rock, I like pop. It depends on my mood."
Enjoys eating burgers and asado (barbecue).
Lists being smart as his best quality and being lazy as his worst quality.
Says that his secret talent and favourite school subject is math. "I love everything with numbers. I love looking at stats," says Cerundolo."It is not that I use it too much in tennis, but I probably discuss with my coach or my parents some stats that I’ve seen. Brain games are also fun for me."

Broke into Top 100 and achieved new career-high ranking 11 times in 2022, then reached career-high No. 19 in June 2023 after reaching 1st Grand Slam 4R at Roland Garros (d. No. 8 Fritz in 3R).
Moved into Top 25 in July 2022 after defeating No. 5 Ruud en route to 1st ATP Tour title in Bastad and No. 8 Rublev en route to Hamburg SF in back-to-back weeks.
Captured 2nd title at 2023 Eastbourne to be the 1st Argentine ATP Tour champion on grass courts since Frana at 1995 Nottingham.
As World No. 103 at 2022 Miami, became lowest-ranked semi-finalist in 37-year tournament history and 1st player to reach SF in his ATP Masters 1000 main draw debut since Janowicz at 2012 Paris.
On clay in 2024, reached Roland Garros 4R for the 2nd time (l. to No. 1 Djokovic in 5 sets), defeated No. 5 Zverev to reach ATP Masters 1000 Madrid QF and won 3rd title in Umag.
Owns 73-36 Challenger record (5-1 in finals), highlighted by 17-2 run to end 2020 season with titles at Split, Guayaquil and Campinas.
