    • Broke into singles Top 10 and achieved career-high No. 7 in 2009, then broke into doubles Top 10 and achieved career-high No. 8 in 2013.
    • Won 2013 Nitto ATP Finals doubles title w/Marrero after playing singles there in 2009, making him 1 of 2 active players to compete at year-end championships in both singles and doubles (also Sock).
    • Captured 1st of 7 singles and 1st of 8 doubles titles in 2004, clinched 2008 and 2009 Davis Cup titles for Spain, and earned 500th singles win in his hometown (d. Lorenzi in 2018 Madrid 1R).
    • Played 67 straight Grand Slam main draws until 2020 US Open, highlighted by 1st Grand Slam SF at 2009 Australian Open (l. to No. 1 Nadal after5:14).
    • Owns 0-12 record vs. World No. 1, but boasts wins over No. 2 Djokovic (2010 Monte Carlo SF, 2010 Rome QF) and No. 2 Nadal (2012 Madrid 3R).
