Began playing tennis aged six. His mother, Olga Yevseyeva, was friends with professional tennis player Elena Likhovtseva.
His mother and father, Anatoly Yevseyev, decided he would become a professional tennis player.
Coach from hometown of Almaty told him he needed to compete with the best to be the best, so practised away from home.
Says the most impactful coaches he had were in Spain. Jose Altur was key to his progress and showed him that success only comes if you work 100 per cent.
Atage 27 he hired a new coach from Ukraine, Evgeny Tseplyaev, who he said helped him become the best version of himself.
