Began playing tennis at age 6 with his father, who used to work at a small tennis club next to his house.
Father, Philippe; mother, Eliane; brother, Thomas, also plays tennis (teamed at 2017 Lyon).
Idols growing up were Roger Federer and Marat Safin.
Favourite surface is clay and shot is backhand.
Says that he enjoys hitting hot shots while playing.
Voted by fellow players as 2015 ATP Comeback Player of the Year.
If he wasn't a tennis player, he would be a football player.
