The Cordoba Open made its debut on the ATP Tour in 2019. It is the first clay-court tournament of the season and also the opening leg of the Latin American swing, aptly coined the "Golden Swing". The city of Cordoba, 435 miles north-west of Buenos Aires, has hosted a number of international sporting events, including FIFA World Cup football qualification matches.
